Good Character

Students are recognized for exhibiting good character each week at our character assembly. The nominees for the awards are submitted to the office when someone is “caught” demonstrating good character. This would include any act that might show one or several of the traits that the character program attempts to focus upon. Our purpose is to accentuate the positive and reinforce to our students that “doing the right thing” should be a part of our everyday activities and routines.

Students of the month

Students from each classroom are selected each month for “Student of the Month” awards. The students are selected by exhibiting good character, excellence in the classroom, and other positive identifiers. Students that are selected are nominated by their classroom teachers. Each individual who receives the award is recognized during our character assembly.

Traveling Trophy

Traveling trophies have become quite a tradition at Blue Eye Elementary. These trophies are presented to individual or groups that have displayed great character. The trophies are passed out during assemblies and are returned the following week to be presented again. The goal of the trophy is to not only acknowledge the great things that students and staff are doing but also to be used again and again. The purpose of our character program is to focus on the great character that is present in all of us because it is the right thing to do.  The value of doing the right thing is not to get a trophy but the intrinsic value we receive for showing good character to others.
