Support

Dear Friends,
You may have seen some recent news articles or television pieces dedicated to what many school districts are doing all over the United States in regards to building character education into their schools which in turn will reach out into communities. Our school has seen some terrific results due to the commitment to instilling good character within our students.
Initiated in 2001-2002, the results of this program have been terrific. Student discipline problems have decreased, pride and “ownership” of our school have increased, and the climate of teamwork among our faculty and student body has become wonderful. I attribute these excellent results to two things. First, a staff that is dedicated to serving our students in any way they can. Secondly, we have a commitment that we will strive to recognize, to develop, and to practice positive character traits within our students and ourselves.
My goal in contacting you and your organization is to ask for your support of our efforts. I am trying to secure approximately $3000 for funds to be used for this current and the upcoming school year. The majority of these funds to be used for student resources which proclaim our 2009-2010 theme: “Good Character is Priceless.”  The funds raised will be used exclusively for:

  1. Student t-shirts which exhibit our theme.  All contributors will have their company listed on the back of the shirts as our way of saying thank you. If you wish to be an anonymous contributor then your company name would be omitted at your request. ($1500)
  2. Character Education expenses for teachers’ professional development through Characterplus. ($700)
  3. Purchase teacher supplies and resource items which would demonstrate positive character within the chosen theme. $25 per classroom x 20 classrooms. ($500)
  4.  Student, faculty, parent, and community recognition as a way to promote the program.  ($300)

As a company or individual you may wish to partially or completely sponsor one of the four expense areas. Regardless of your donation size, all sponsors will be listed on our student shirts unless they requested to remain anonymous.
Money is not the only resource that can help our program. If your company sponsors or participates within school buildings with such valuable items as: mentoring, volunteering, community service projects, etc. our district continues to look for partnerships which will enhance our dedication to students.
Thankfully, many companies do many things for education and that your time and resources are always in demand. However, we believe in this program and that our students are experiencing things which will contribute to a better community for our patrons. We have confidence that our efforts will create dividends for not only your business but any company employing our students in the future and that is the reason we are requesting your support.
If you wish to find out more concerning our character education program or any of the other possible ideas please feel free to call  417-779-4318.  We are eager to speak with you in person if that is something which would be of service.

Sincerely,
