The Blue Eye Youth Softball U8, U10 and U12 teams attended the Springfield Cardinal’s Game and were announced on the field as part of the Field of Dreams program.

Congratulations to Cassidy Magee!
Last week in Washington DC, Cassidy was honored for her winning artwork, Bitsy in black-and-white! She met with Congressman Eric Burlison, and he admired her drawing because he loves Yorkies. He serves approximately 800,000 people in our congressional district and Cassidy’s artwork is number one! Bitsy in black-and-white is on display for the next year in the US Capital. The hallway that contains the art sees the most foot traffic out of anywhere at the capital. We are SO proud of Cassidy for this huge honor and achievement! Congratulations Cassidy, for winning the Congressional Art Competition sponsored by Congressman Eric Burlison!
Cassidy traveled to DC with her family and High School Art Teacher, Ms. Williams.

Mrs. Cavener's 4th grade students finished a novel study on the book 'The Tale of Despereaux' by Kate DiCamillo.
Students dressed as their favorite character, worked on some activities, and ate some soup. They did a comparison between the novel and the movie after enjoying the animated version.

Come out and listen to some great junior high bands!
